NYC DAY THREE

Our third day of traveling in the city was packed full of events. We started the morning with a walk to The Cosmic Diner where we ate a full breakfast. Nothing like a hearty meal to start your day of walking. Today was going to be a window shopping day. We wandered through Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman, FAO Schwartz, Bloomingdales and spent some time actually trying on things that we could afford at Strawberry, Forever 21, and some smaller boutiques. One thing I noticed about New Yorkers was that most of them were very well dressed. Most people were not in jeans and tshirts and if they were they had a "look" that they were acheiving. Emily and I were trying to figure out how they knew we weren't from the City. Maybe it was the cameras. :)
We received word of a secret burger joint in the back of the Park Meridian so we broke for an early lunch. We entered the lobby and behind some curtains was a VERY small, dark, windowless diner, with loud playing music and grafitti on the walls. The line stretched out the door down the hall. Most people got the burgers to go but I ran interference and scored us a seat while Emily ordered. I ate Emily's leftovers because my breakfast was filling. After some more window shopping I ate a street gyro that was delicious and we headed back to the hotel for a rest before our play.
We ate dessert for dinner at The Pie Store, pictured above is my New York Cheesecake. I intended to picture my meals untouched but most of the time half-way through we remembered to take the pictures. Affer dinner/dessert we walked to the New Amsterdam playhouse. We saw Mary Poppins and were seated on the front row. I was really impressed with the sets and the child actors. I don't think I had ever seen a play with children as the main actors. It was humorous and there were illusions and tricks throughout the play, plus some Mary Poppins umbrella flight action. I really loved the Disney movie too so I knew almost all of the songs they sang. I would recommend Mary Poppins to anyone!
