NYC DAY ONE

This AM my friend Emily and I left on an adventure to New York City. Our plane ride was great! And the taxi ride to our hotel, The Pod hotel was uneventful. We had to wait one hour to check-in so we caught lunch at The New York Luncheonette. I had a Gyro which is pictured below. Unfortunately the weather is not great. It is about 37 degrees and raining. We were prepared for cold weather but not wet weather. There are standing puddles everywhere, so we found some rain boots. I got them in leopard print!!
We've doubled up our socks and now all is well. Thankfully we brought hats and umbrellas.
We walked to Grand Central Station, Times Square, and the had some yummy pizza. The we trekked back to the hotel and are now taking a break before we see Arcadia on Broadway. Our noses and fingers are cold. I think we are treating ourselves to a taxi ride to the show tonight. The weather should improve on Friday.
Our hotel room is pretty cool. We have two bunk beds, a sink, desk and an open closet. There are about 8 rooms on one side of the building and 4 bathrooms to share. I was kind of worried about the bathroom sharing but there is a neat indicator light above our door that tells which bathrooms are occupied. So you don't have to wander the halls looking for an empty john. I'm impressed by this hotel so far. Stay tuned for more Adventures of the Emily Duo. :)
